Melco OS Installation Guide

This guide will help you install the Melco OS v11 software.

Recommended Versions

Below are the recommended software versions by machine type.

  • Amaya Non XT (Red & White): Serial 320001 - 324999: v4 – v9
  • Amaya XT Machine: Serial 325000 – 349999: v7 – v10
  • Amaya XTS Machine: Serial 328190 - 3599999: v9 – v10
  • Melco EMT16 & EMT16+: Serial 400000 - 403291: v11.09.099 – Latest
  • EMT16X (Old CC Motor): Serial 410000 - 413841: v11.12.138 – Latest
  • EMT16X (New CC Motor): Serial 413842 & Up: v11.17.166 – Latest

Note: Wherever possible use the version already installed, to reduce the need for recalibration. If you must install a later version, follow the Thread Feed Calibration Guide.

Installation Steps

  • Extract the software from the zip file by right-clicking and selecting Extract All.
  • Run the setup application.

  • Accept the licence agreement and click Next.

  • Install to the C: drive (do not change this). Click Next.

  • Confirm your settings and click Install.

  • If you see an error due to Design Shop being open, close Design Shop and click Retry.
  • Click Finish when the installation is complete.

  • Right-click the Melco icon on the desktop and select Properties.

  • Under the Compatibility tab, set to run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and check "Run this program as an administrator".

  • Click Apply and OK.
  • Double-click the Melco OSv11 icon to launch (ensure machines are off).
  • Enter your licence code (M201-****-****) and click Activate. (Skip if re-installing.)

  • If you see a screen other than a blank grey one, switch to the Advanced interface:
    • Click the gear:
    • Click the gears again:
    • Click the M icon with rotating arrow:
    • You should now see the Advanced interface with a blank grey screen.
  • Go to: Tools > Options

  • Check the network card settings and ensure the correct LAN card is selected in the Ethernet tab. Click Apply and OK.

  • Turn on the machine. You should see the hoop screen and settings bar on the right-hand side. If not, see the Connection Troubleshooting Guide.
