Melco connection troubleshooting
Use this checklist if your Melco machine stops communicating with the PC.
- Check the network connections.
- Check all cables (swap with a known working machine if possible).
- If connected via a switch or hub, plug the embroidery machine directly into the computer.
- Check whether Windows has recently updated.
- Temporarily turn off any antivirus and firewall software that could be blocking the connection.
- Confirm the network connection in Melco OS.
- Go to Tools > Options.
- Open the Ethernet tab. Select the LAN card connected to the machines (it should be highlighted in blue), then click Apply and OK.
- Reboot Melco OS and the machine to reconnect.
- Go to Tools > Options.
- Use the advanced connection menu (enable via registry if required).
Warning: Only make the change described below. Editing other registry keys can cause Windows system errors.
-
- In the Windows search bar, type RegEdit and open the Registry Editor.
- Navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Melco\MC\Settings
- Double-click
EnetAdvanced
and change the value from0
to1
, then close the Registry Editor. The advanced Ethernet menu will now be available in Melco OS. - If no machines appear, the machine may require a Manual USB Reflash, follow the steps on the link below to complete this:
- If you see the machine in the left box with a
+
next to it, it needs to be Unpaired and Reclaimed. Select the machine on the left and click Unpair. - Close the network settings window, then reopen it. The machine should now appear without a
+
. Select the machine and click the>>>>>
button. The machine should beep, appear in the right-hand box, and sync to the computer.
- Reinstall the software.
- If the above does not work, reinstall Melco OS. Follow the steps in the Melco OS Installation Guide (available on the support page).
- Try a different PC.
- Install the software on another PC and confirm the machine can connect from there.
- Still having issues? The problem may be an electrical failure and a service visit could be required. Request support.
