BY-20 Shut Down Cleaning
How to perform the daily shut down cleaning. A step-by-step guide that will help you carry out the manual cleaning with ease.
Items Required:
- Protective Eyewear
- Gloves
- Cleaning Swabs
- Cleaning Liquid (S-PG2-CL)
- A Pipette
- Tweezers
- Light
Procedure:
Warning: To prevent the printheads from drying out, finish the procedure in 10 minutes or less. An alarm sounds 10 minutes after operation starts.
Be sure to perform operations as specified by the instructions, and never touch any area not specified in the instructions.
Sudden movement of the machine may cause injury.
- Remove any media before starting this procedure
- Navigate to the printer Utility window
- Click [Cleaning], then under [Daily Shut Down] click [Execute]
- Click [Next]. The print-head carriage will move to the left. Wait until the print-head stops
- Open both the right and left covers
- Moisten a cleaning swab with cleaning liquid. Use a new cleaning stick each time and for each seperate area
- Remove any hardened ink. If required, use tweezers carefully to lift away stubborn deposits
- In the same way, remove hardened ink from any other accessible areas, not only around the cap top
- Clean the frame around the surface of the print-head in the left cover. Be careful not to touch the nozzle surface directly with the cleaning swab
- Clean the three locations in the right cover. Clean the frame around the cap top. Also clean the upper surface of the cap top with the wide surface of the cleaning stick
- Clean the wiper, and the scraper
- Draw up a small amount of cleaning liquid with the pipette, and then apply it to the cap top
- Close the right and left covers
- Click [Finish All]. The printhead carriage will return to its original position. This will completes the daily shut down cleaning
