BY-20 Start-up Cleaning

How to perform the daily start-up cleaning. A step-by-step guide that will help you carry out the manual cleaning with ease.

Items Required:

  • Protective Eyewear
  • Gloves
  • Cleaning Swabs
  • Cleaning Liquid (S-PG2-CL)
  • Cleaning Sheets
  • A Pipette
  • Light

Procedure: 

Warning: To prevent the printheads from drying out, finish the procedure in 10 minutes or less. An alarm sounds 10 minutes after operation starts.

Be sure to perform operations as specified by the instructions, and never touch any area not specified in the instructions.

Sudden movement of the machine may cause injury. 

  1. Remove any media before attempting operation
  2. Navigate to the printer Utility window
  3. Click [Cleaning], then click [Execute] under [Start-up Cleaning]
  4. Click [Next]. The print-head carriage will move to the left. Wait until the print-head stops
  5. Open the left cover
  6. Touch the metal part of the machine to eliminate static electricity
  7. Fold a cleaning sheet three times
  8. Attach the cleaning sheet to the head nozzle refresher
  9. Suction up some cleaning liquid using the pipette, and then drip the cleaning liquid onto the cleaning sheets
  10. Clean the print head nozzle surface five times
  11. Discard the cleaning sheet used for cleaning
  12. Close the left cover
  13. Click [Finish All]. The print-head carriage will return to its original position. This completes start-up cleaning
